In this article I will be describing the classical way including studies required to become a lawyer. Normally in order to become a lawyer you have to go to a law school. This is the classical way. Nevertheless becoming a lawyer without a law school is possible but we will not be focusing on this method in the article.
So as you probably have guessed in order to become a lawyer you need to have a law degree. For this you need to go to university (undergraduate) follow a law course and get a good average grade over your studies.
After this the second step consists in passing the LAST exam (Law School Admission Test) which is need to apply to a law school. When revising, if you feel that you are not so familiar with certain topics do not hesitate in reading extra books! The grade you will obtain at this test will determine your future as law schools will look at it and either accept you or reject your application. I recommend applying to several law schools in order to have the choice! Its better having a choice then none at all!
When you are admitted in a law school, simply follow the course, do your best and try also and do other activities (sports, art, projects) or internships which are very good for your CV.
During your course, choose a speciality where you want to work later on. This is a very important choice and will impact the sector in which you will be working in your career. At the end of your law school course, if you succeed, you will receive a Juris Doctor Degree which basically means you can be a lawyer!
The last step consists in taking the BAR exam in your state. Simply work hard and have the best grade possible as you will have to mention it on your resume (CV). Once you have passed the exam, thats it, you can apply for a job, and you will be a lawyer! Cool no?
